MANSA DEVI TEMPLE

Mansa Devi Temple, one of Haridwar's five pilgrimage spots, honors Goddess Mansa, an incarnation of Goddess Shakti. Situated on Bilwa Parvat, it's revered as one of the 51 Shakti Peeths. Legend holds that Goddess Mansa originated from Lord Shiva's mind. According to mythology, Lord Shiva's grief-stricken Tandav with Goddess Shakti's body led Lord Vishnu to divide it into 51 parts that fell on Earth, each becoming a sacred Shakti Peeth.
